Father dies after saving daughter from Michigan house fire


A father has died days after injuries while rescuing his daughter after a house explosion.

“It is with great sadness that we share the death of Jeremy Droscha from injuries sustained in a house fire,” Eaton County Fairgrounds wrote on its Facebook page. “Jeremy has been a great asset to our board but most importantly a great friend to all of us.”

According to the organization, Droscha recently served as vice president of the board.

The family also confirmed Droscha’s death on Facebook on Saturday.

According to FOX 47 News, Droscha’s house exploded on Tuesday. He was thrown from his home but rushed back inside to save his 4-year-old daughter, who was slightly injured.

Droscha suffered second and third degree burns on over 60% of his body, according to a GoFundMe page.

Michigan State Police classified the blast as an accident, according to FOX 47.
